What is the Curiosity Workshop?

Take a closer look at one of our class offerings

Four awesome things happen every day at The Curiosity Crew: history, science, lunch/free play, and... the Curiosity Workshop! "Ooooh, what's the Curiosity Workshop?" you ask? Great question! Keep reading to discover what it is, how the kids spend their time during it and the inspiration for this class.

I don’t know about you but I’m a BUSY homeschool mom and we are a BUSY homeschool family. There are so many amazing opportunities to take advantage of in the Twin Cities but it can be hard to find the time in our schedule to attend them or to research all the options.  Enter the Curiosity Workshop!

The inspiration for this class started as a small simmer in me every time I registered my kids for one of those 3-6 week homeschool classes offered through so many organizations.  They are great opportunities and in general my kids loved them all but I, mom, had a couple of big issues:

  1. They were hard to fit into our schedule and made it challenging to keep a consistent routine.

  2. My kids always wanted to do the classes with friends and trying to coordinate schedules was challenging at best and at other times impossible.

  3. The ever changing group of kids in classes.  Don’t get me wrong, meeting new people is wonderful.  But it can be challenging to create lasting friendships when you only meet a person 3-4 times for a couple of hours.

  4. All the add on activities can get expensive.

how to solve these problems?

That’s where the Curiosity Workshop comes in.  It has lots of opportunities all in one place at one consistent time, simplifying what we as parents need to keep track of.  We didn't want to have to sign up multiple times and keep track of an ever changing schedule so we built in a place for it within our meeting days.  That way, it’s easier for your kids to experience these classes with their friends! And best of all, these programs come at no additional cost; helping to simplify your homeschool budget.

So what exactly are the kids doing during the Curiosity Workshop?  The short answer is - awesome, engaging, inspiring, fun STEAM activities!  I’m silly excited for these classes and I kind of wish I got to be a kid again and could take part in them. (Let’s be real - sometimes the most magical thing about homeschooling is it reminds me how much fun it is to learn and how exciting it is to discover new things!)

The class offerings will change with each trimester but check below to see some examples of options we have hosted.
