2024 - 2025 Topics & Themes
This innovative class is an opportunity for students to explore all the facets of STEAM. We utilize a residency model to bring in experts on topics to teach a 5-week course. Check out more about this class over on our blog.
Fall Residencies:
Snapology: Robots, Rovers, and More. This class with Snapology covers space rovers, how humans use robots to solve problems, and using sensors to control robots.
EcoElsa: During our time with EcoElsa, students will learned about bird beak adaptations, physics of flight, designed their own bird, and more! In addition to spending time in nature observing birds, students will also spend time designing and building squirrel-proof bird feeders.
Winter Residencies:
Snapology: We are excited to welcome Snapology back this Winter. Our Mapmakers will be focusing on honing their engineering skills, while Navigators will be flexing their creativity with in an Inventions class.
Art Residency: This winter the Mapmakers and Navigators are working with Heidi Witte of ArtStart. She has developed an class with art projects inspired by natural phenomenons.
Spring Residencies:
Textile Art Center: This class is a unique opportunity for students to explore humans journey with textiles. During this residency students will explore the history of fabrics, make yarn, learn how to knit and explore mending fabrics.
