definition: of or relating to worldly things or to things that are not regarded as religious, spiritual, or sacred; temporal: not pertaining to or connected with religion
For The Curiosity Crew, here is how it translates to our classes:
While religion and religious beliefs have a strong influence in historical events, secular curriculum does not present or endorse certain religious beliefs or teachings as factual. Furthermore, the science program will present information generally agreed upon by practicing experts in that field and will not incorporate religious philosophy.

Yes, we believe that opportunities for students and parents to get to know each other outside of academic classes is crucial to building strong bonds within our community. There will be optional field trips, movie nights, and parent nights out.

Absolutely! The Curiosity Crew is designed to complement child-led learning approaches like unschooling, Waldorf, Charlotte Mason, and Montessori. Our program fosters exploration, creativity, and collaboration, all within a supportive and engaging environment. We believe in empowering children to take ownership of their learning, which aligns perfectly with your homeschooling philosophy.
We also offer opportunities for social interaction and skill development, which can be valuable additions to a child-led learning experience. Feel free to reach out here if you have any questions about how The Curiosity Crew can specifically support your homeschool journey!

This is dependent on the class and teacher. Most weeks, teachers will provide additional learning opportunities so families can extend the learning outside of the co-op and have opportunities for deep dives and rabbit holes. There may be additional work that your student needs to complete between classes.
Our goal is for our time together to be an opportunity for collaboration and deep engagement, this may mean that some independent work may need to be completed outside of our meeting time. The amount expected will be age appropriate and vary for the different age cohorts.
-
Not at all! We know that kids all learn at their own pace. The Curiosity Crew fosters learning through hands-on exploration and play, which is perfect for learners of all abilities.
-
We are committed to meeting your child where they are and helping them continue to grow socially, emotionally and intellectually. At The Curiosity Crew, especially for our younger learners, learning is an active adventure! We focus on hands-on exploration, project-based activities, and engaging games, minimizing the need for long periods of sitting still. We understand the importance of physical activity and incorporate movement breaks and flexible seating options throughout the day.
